Recipes for Polymer Clay Mokume Gane

Hello fellow ‘clayers’. I’ve met so many amazing people over the last couple of years, thank you all for your support. My previous booklets have ben well received and lots of you have asked if I would share my ‘recipes’ ie how did I layer my clay, what colours did I use, how many times did I run it through the pasta machine… so I decided I’d put another booklet together. The title ‘recipes’ is very tongue in cheek for two reasons: I don’t cook/can’t cook – I was bought a mug with the logo ‘I have a kitchen because it came with the house’, left to my own devices I would live on cheese sandwiches. Secondly Mokume Gane is a technique where whatever you produce is a ‘one off’ and can’t be reproduced – this booklet is really just to share some basics to get people started and some prompts to get you to experiment and create your own ‘recipes’.

As with my other booklets these are free for you to use. You can download from here at no cost. If you want a PDF copy I’ll add it to my Etsy account for a nominal cost later. ANY money raised from this will go straight to The LimbBo Foundation – I’m a trustee of this charity and any support would be gratefully received – I create booklets for LimbBo – new parents, starting School, hospital packs – all of which are to support our children and their families – it costs roughly £5 to send a printed copy of a couple of booklets plus postage.

Im very grateful to Melanie Muir, Moikosilkscreens, Hibiscus Creations and Polymer Week for their support.

As I’m UK based the clay I normally use is FIMO as its the easiest to buy here.

And finally – just a little bit of information about LimbBo

Hope its useful Jane x
