2nd and 3rd March 2015 61 & 62/365

I spent a lovely day at a local school yesterday taking photographs for their website and prospectus. Today therefore is an editing day so the photos are the birds again over morning coffee! Continue reading 2nd and 3rd March 2015 61 & 62/365

New bird feeder has upset the goldfinches but not bothered the blue tits. Watched this little bird for ages this morning. It got one seed then flew to a different perch to eat it.    Sunday 1st March – The goldfinches are now brave enough! Continue reading 28th Feb 2015 59/365

23rd February 54/365

A leisurely start to Monday morning with coffee and laptop in front of patio windows – lots of goldfinches this morning – not a spare perch to be seen! Oh and as you can see from the header that squirrel is still a constant visitor! Continue reading 23rd February 54/365

Welcome back! As I mentioned in an earlier post, we are fortunate to live near an RSPB site and so have a wonderful range of birds in our garden. Today the Thrush reappeared – haven’t seen these for a while so went upstairs to get my camera and when I returned our Woodpecker, who also hasn’t visited for a while, was feeding on the fat … Continue reading 15th January 2015 15/365

After taking photos of the dried hydrangeas I had in the house last week, I found one solitary hydrangea in the garden. It is obviously in a different condition to the ones in the house – no colour left and paper thin petals. Cobwebs if you look closely but so photogenic! Tip Dry some of your flowers and then photograph them in natural light – … Continue reading 11th January 2015 11/365

6th January 6/365

I’ve not been well today – aches and pains all over – so I worked in the kitchen with my mac on my knee and my camera beside me. I love our garden. This morning there were 4 female pheasants, 2 robins, several great tits, blackbirds, pigeons, a dunnock and obviously THAT squirrel! Tip To get the  birds in your garden to be brave enough to … Continue reading 6th January 6/365

We are very fortunate to live near an RSPB site so we get lots of birds in our garden including  bullfinches, woodpeckers and sparrowhawks. The photo above shows my ‘nemesis’ we have a running battle as this squirrel constantly eats a lot of the food that we put out for the birds. He is really cheeky and just stares at me when … Continue reading 5th January 2015 5/365
